After watching both of the bantamweight semi-finals be decided by split decision at Bellator 55, I have once again been reminded of how subjective judging can be currently in mma. I’m still not 100% sure if it is an issue with the judging criteria not being specific enough or it not giving a fair shake to BJJ practicioners, or if it is just that the judges themselves are not educated enough in all aspects of the sport. Needless to say something needs to be changed, and this week on the show I will be spending some time going over the current rules and judging criteria and where I think improvements can be made.
